How to judge the bed size you need

June 28th, 2008

Firstly, the size of the bedroom or where the bed will be has to be taken into consideration, leaving enough space needed around the bed. It has to be known who the bed is for to judge how much length and width they will need. Say the bed is for you. Lie down flat on your back on the bed. Have a person measuring the comfort zone around your body as illustrated below. If the bed is for two, simply double the width. The comfort zone is the extra space needed around your body to have a comfortable sleep and to be able to stretch out and roll over on your side without rolling off.

Creature’s comfort - on air!

June 27th, 2008

When buying a new bed for your pet have you ever considered an air bed as an option. Well, there is a reason why you should; air beds provide not only comfort, but the unique coil system contours to each individual pet’s body to provide firm support not found in most conventional dog beds. If you are a pet lover, how about treating them to some comfort while they sleep.

Also it is good for your environment as well as the pet. Most air beds for pets have covers that come off and on for easy maintenance and are machine washable. Keep in mind; pets sleep better in their own bed. If you travel with your pet, it is very nice for them to bring their own bed on trips. It is easy to deflate and transport anywhere, keeping you and your pet happy!

Tips when Buying a New Bed

June 27th, 2008

You could say sleep is as natural part of our lives as the air we breathe, but yet most of us don’t give much thought to the mattress we sleep upon. While spending a third of our lives in bed it only makes sense we had better get the right mattress and as comfortable as possible. The choice is yours when it comes to buying a bed, but there are a few key points you should consider when going to pick one out.

Key points to consider before buying a new bed:

  • • Who is the bed for (you, you and your partner, kid, guest, youth, old, pregnant)?
  • • What size do you need (king size, queen size or twin sized bed)?
  • • Comfort (firmness, pressure relief)?
  • • Bedroom space
  • • Lifestyle (do you travel much)?

Today we have a wide range of beds to choose from but have you ever considered the option of a raised air bed or air mattresses for the guest or the more permanent sleep? They are affordable and enhance comfort and can reduce pressure points while you sleep. You can choose how soft or firm you would like to have your mattress. This is ideal for anyone who suffers from back pain or discomfort caused by hard or soft mattress surface. Air beds are a simple solution worth trying for a good sleep experience.

Inflatable mattresses are quick and easy to inflate, deflate, transport and store away.  This makes air beds great for bedrooms, guest rooms, parties, and even camping trips. Air mattresses vary in price from low in cost to more luxury beds. They are a very good option for people who are moving to a new home easy to transport and light to carry, making it easy to set up a bedroom instantly in your new home.  It is always worth considering an air bed for a child as it will make traveling and visiting family easier. Children always sleep better in their own bed, making the decision of a portable bed for children the wise choice for a good night’s sleep!

How to Repair an Air Bed

June 26th, 2008

So, you went to bed sleeping on air and woke up on a hard floor? Ouch! Or was your air bed already sagging by the time you had your teeth washed? Either way, you’ve got yourself a leaking air bed!

Before even considering buying a new bed, there are only two things you need to do with the leak: Find it and patch it!

How to locate the leak:

  1. Inflate the bed.
  2. Use your ears. Listen very carefully; you might hear the low whistling of escaping air.
  3. Slowly move your hand over all areas of the bed, and you might feel air blowing on your skin.
  4. If you still haven’t found it, use a wet cloth with a bit of liquid soap on it and brush down the bed. If you can see soap bubbles – you’ve found your leak!

How to patch:

  1. By far the best thing to do to repair the leakage is to use a patch kit. A patch kit might have been included when you purchased your air bed. If so, use it!
  2. If not, buy one! The leather & vinyl repair kits are the best option. They are easy to use and do the job well.
  3. Get this recommended patch kit, as it is strong and matches most popular colors, and it’s great to have around the house as it works on cars, boats, luggage, apparel, etc.
